January 30th, 2011: Chinese Mayapple (Podophyllum delavayi) by Strever
Great photo! I've never heard of this neat looking plant and must go read about it!
check out all of the Podophyllum Lin
they are a great plant for shady gardens like mine
Dick
I have American Mayapple plants and the blooms are white. They grow wild around my area. Would like to have this one as a contast.
Very cool!
So do you have them planted along your paths, Dick? Trilliums are up around here already.
Your garden must be so beautiful!
actually it's getting a little wild, from almost 3 years of neglect (store)
but i also like wild & exotic :-) other then the wild blackberry & English ivy :-(
2 acres of Ferns & Oxalis oregano ground cover with meandering foot paths amongst the Redwoods
with small alcoves of special plants
(Arisaema,Acer JM's,Farfugium,Fuchsia,Heuchera,Helleborus,Podophyllum,Trillium,& more)
i will post up some more images this spring
Dick
