Fernlets growing on leaves.

Arua, Uganda(Zone 11)

I collected this fern from the wet hills of southern Sudan a while back. Now the fern is suffering from our dry season here in Uganda. But to my surprise it has started to produce fernlets of the mature leaves.

Is this normal? I have never seen this before. Anyone with an idea of the speices of the plant?

A number of ferns do this to reproduce. The best known is Asplenium bulbiferum, but yours isn't that species.
