Good grape varieties for michigan?

Eaton Rapids, MI

Hi , I am going to make a small home vineyard this spring and was looking for advice on good grape varieties for michigan. I want to make wine and use some for fresh eating. any advice would be greatly appriciated. also if anyone wants to trade some of the seeds on my swap list for some grape vine cuttings that would be awesome. thanks

Contact your local extension office.
I know that MSU has a lot of info on grapes.

I'm a good bit north east of you but if you're up my way this spring feel free to stop by and take all the cuttings you wish. I don't know the variety of the grapes I have since they were here when we bought the farm. They are a blue/pruple grape and very sweet. I let our neighbor take most of the grapes and I know they do make wine. They bring us a couple bottles each year and it's good. I do know if you plan to grow grapes you need to invest in some good netting or the birds/animals will take them all before you get any. I'm in AuGres township.
