Any fans of the English paper method here?

Cedartown, GA

I've just discovered the joys of making hexagons by basting them to paper! Amazing how easy and precise this method is! Plus, I don't have to drag the sewing machine out to make a few blocks. The papers are easy to make and the units come together quickly.
It surprises me now simple copy paper gives enough stability to fabric to make it easy to handle.
The precut 5 inch squares I've been buying are perfect for 2 inch finished hexagons. And hey, I'm finally using the multi-sized plastic quilt templates I bought back in 1998! Everything comes in handy eventually!

Does anyone else like this paper method? What kinds of things have you done?

I'm considering using the diamond template for a simpler LeMoyne style star. But first, more hexagons!
