Last summer I had my first container pond. I am hooked, and this year we have moved so I have lots of room for any size pond or ponds I want. I also have some bog areas.
I would welcome any advice as I am a beginner.
Can anyone tell me where I can find mail order catalogs for Pond plants? Or web sites offering plants?
I would like to get a water lily and start it in the house until spring, maybe some other plants as well.
I look forward to having pond plants I can share with everyone.

Try Cyndi Johnson's list of catalogs - I'm pretty sure she has a section on water garden sources. And if you have a Lowe's or Home Depot nearby, check them out (along with any local nurseries); you might be surprised how many "mainstream" plants you can find.
And if you haven't already, you might want to read through these posts on this forum - there are at least a couple of us who are planning to trade/SASE pond plants this spring when it gets a little warmer.
This is only my second year to water garden - we inherited two ponds with our house. But instinctively I would caution you to wait until you have the pond ready before you get your plants, unless you really have a setup to handle their needs for several weeks or more. I'm sure some of the more experienced ponders can give you pointers and tips on the best way to prioritize your approach to a new pond. Best wishes on your new pond!

Last spring I purchased some plants on ebay from hawaiian watergardens and all plants were large and healthy. I have also been pleased with Bonnie's plants at http://www.koivet.com Her plants are nice and resonably priced. Also, I trade/share plants with other members of a state-wide ponding club when we have 'get-togethers' during ponding season.
