PC stopped reading my mamory card from camera

I have a fairly new HP desktop mini tower- windows 7 home premium- up until today no problem- suddenly it will not read my Sony pro media card- I did a syayem restore back 3 days- no luck. My printer will read it, so it isn't the card. Any suggestions? Since the restore didn't work I'll undo it, since there have been 3 wondows updates since then. It may be a hiccup that will cure itself-?
