Ibervillea Lindheimerii help please : )
Thats a nice sized caudex? But I have no idea about that plant, sorry.
Cheryl
It's about 6 inches around and 3 inches tall : )
Thanks!
Did u mail order the plant, if so they might be able to give you some instruction.

I didn't realize that plant is native to my area. If it's like most tubers you can bury the lower part and it will root. I know an expert will come along to give you exact advice soon. If it produces seed, I would love to have some!
C
yes mail order...i will send a email to then for help..thanks!
and if i don't kill it and ever get seed it's yours : )
I just buried mine in s/h and it rooted. It has just sent up a shoot so it not asleep this time of year so I would, personally try to plant it.
I am waiting on a shipment of s/h..i have been reading your posts Sally!!!

I have seen pics of this plant and other caudiciforms that have a flattened pancake appearence, do you know how they get this type of caudex development. There is a pic on DG of one of these plants showing that type of growth.
C
I saw one on cactusflats.net....you have to email them.
Interesting low tech webpage for the nursery. BTW, http://www.bihrmann.com/caudiciforms/SUBS/ibe-lin-sub.asp is a summary of the species, and here's general care from the site: http://www.bihrmann.com/caudiciforms/div/vstt.asp .
Thanks for the links! great info.
I am not sure how they get this way but I think they are so neat looking. Had to have one.
I would luv to have one of these but they are hard to find.
Is the common name buffalo gourd? I wonder if its hardy in my part of TX? That link showing many of them growing together is very cool.
C

Plant looks quite happy! That is the beauty with succulents, they are tough.
