dvds or online mac tutorials

I have a friend who has never used a computer before and was given a beautiful new i mac computer by her children. She doesn't even know how to turn it on and really doesn't know the difference between her computer programs, data and the internet. She tried lessons somewhere but the instructor did most of the keyboarding and mouse use so that nothing was really retained by my friend. Does anyone know of some good video tutorials for a REAL NOVICE?? I was also wondering if a pc could work with a mac using the "go to my pc" method, since my friend lives quite a way from me and I have a windows 7 operating system and she uses her mac operating system.
