Signature Spider (Argiope aemula)
What a beautiful spider. Thanks for sharing the great photo.
Thanks very much, jewoldsen. How do you do?
Did you enter this picture in the Dave's Garden photo contest? I could well be a winner.
I wish I had seen one of these when I lived in Indonesia 14 years ago.
Jim
Thanks Jim for the suggestion. I'll add it soon. I'm trying to choose from my folders. Lots of work that!
Yesterday was the deadline for submitting photos for this year. They started voting on winners today.
Please enter some of you photos next year. You have a keen eye for photography.
I was caught up elsewhere and could not devote much time. Yes, there is always a next time. Will see the entries when time permits. Thanks jweoldsen. The deadline date stayed unregistered in my mind!
Here is a shot I took last month. This was the second wasp the praying mantis caught. The first wasp stung him in the mouth when he tried to bite it. He knew to stay away from the tail with the second, but couldn't manage to get in and take a bite. After 20 minutes the wasp had wiggled around enough to get the stinger close and the Mantis let it go.
Very nice shot and description. How amazing this is!
