I have a Norfolk Island Pine which is over 20 years old. It has done well on our front porch, but is now so big that navigation around it to care for other plants is difficult. There are three trunk-like "shoots" from the base, two large, one small. What can I do to make this tree more manageable? Could I cut off the two larger stems and let the smaller one take over, or just cut them back part way to see if they shoot out again? I would like to keep it around because it was a gift from my husband when we moved to this house, but its size is a nuisance. Thanks for any suggestions.
