New to these plants

I was given some plants at a local DG trade, some white daturas (writtii sp?) and some purple, all are small. I am wondering how hardy they are. I know the native white can over winter in my zone 8 yard but what about the purple? I am taking all in for the winter as they are probably a bit small to leave out in the cold. Also, I was given a variety of seed and want to know when to plant.
