Greek oregano

League City, TX(Zone 9a)

I bought some Greek oregano in a 4" pot, but some of the leaves have turned a dark red color. Is that normal?

Yes, you will find they darken with the fall. You can also leave it outdoors all winter in a pot or in ground. It will be fine.

Thanks Pod, I thought maybe the plant dried out too much and it was starting to die.

I'm thinking it is a hard one to kill but not bad about spreading extensively either. The foliage is pretty when turning the reddish color.

I have several patches of Greek Oregano around the garden - this patch grows behind a 24" poultry wire fence to keep the dogs off.

I think my neighbor plucks more of it than I do - they are Italian, and wow can she cook!
