Change in flower form?

I have not had experience with Daturas before, so perhaps my quandry will seem prosaic. I was given a plant at a plant swap (without specific ID) and it's first bloom is shown here. All subsequent bloms have been like photo 2.

Notice the difference in the flower form. What would explain this, and is it a common phenomonon? Also, can anyone give me an ID?
