Dahlia Eyes

W of Cleveland, OH(Zone 5a)

I am very new to dahlias and this may be a really dumb question......if so, I'm apologizing in advance. On Clack's Dahlia Patch website, they say that to the best of their ability each tuber has at least one live eye. This being the case, does that mean that only one stem will come up from that tuber? And if I want a full plant, do I need to order several of the same type tuber?

Thanks for your help and patience.

Not a dumb question - one eye will give rise to one stem, but stems can develop side branches, especially if you pinch the top when the stem is say, about 7-8 inches tall and has developed some lateral buds.

Yeah - that is good to know!! Thank you so much. My list is already too long without having to double up on the tubers.
