Toxic to dogs?

North Port, FL(Zone 9b)

I have a small plant (15") I started from a cutting in June. Now reading the info in PF I'm wondering if this is toxic to dogs? I know birds will likely carry / drop seeds so even my front lawn away from his fenced yard would not be safe. If on the other hand its only toxic to humans that changes where I can place it.

PlantFiles: Golden Dew Drop, Sky Flower, Pigeon Berry
Duranta erecta 'Sweet Memories'

Family: Verbenaceae (ver-be-NAY-see-ee) (Info)
Genus: Duranta (door-AN-tuh) (Info)
Species: erecta (ee-RECK-tuh) (Info)

I also have a Sophora Tomentosa L (yellow necklace pod) and need the same info... toxic to dogs?
Please let me know so I know where to plant them.

Thanks in advance

I think that all Durantas are toxic. You might check with the tropical or the houseplant forums.

In general, a good source for plant toxicity info is the Cornell site:

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

I have many plants that are considered toxic and toxic can mean more than one thing. I have dogs and Duranta's with the dogs never fooling with them or any other toxic plant. The only thing is one of my dogs eats a certian type of mushroom, not ramdom mushrooms he is very specific to which one. LOL> Some how the animals in general know what not to eat and what is good, I can't tell you deer are very specific in what they like.

Some one pointed this site out to me, all these plants are considered toxic. http://www.erowid.org/plants/
