Is it to late to take hydrangea cuttings for rooting in my zone 5 climate?
I have a greenhouse, and can keep them in there during the winter months.
Thanks for your help.
Hydrangea Cuttings/Propagation
It probably is but...you have nothing to lose by trying. I took many cuttings in March/April (not exactly the prime time of June and July) and gave them all away. They rooted so fast for me.
Let us know how well you did.
Try and take cuttings from branches that have NOT flowered though I've had success with the flowering branches as well but not as much as the ones that never flowered.
Did I use "flowered" enough in that sentence? LOL
Thanks Pirl....I'll give it a try.
Did you take cuttings and, if so, did they root for you?
Is there a specific type or cultivar you prefer?
No I did not take cuttings....forgot about it.
June and July are prime time for trying to root cuttings and they do well here...too well.
