Stock Matthiola annual

Can someone tell me how to get better blooms from my stock plants. They are very bitty with some quite tight clusters . I would like the whole flowering stem to be uniform.

I don't know what to tell you about your stocks other than the single ones will never have the same tight cluster that the doubles do.
They both smell wonderful though ...so good luck and perhaps someone can tell you more about it.

Chrissy is right re the singles...you want a doubles variety like "Austral"...same height as your singles, lovely perfume.
Here are some singles that I grow...they are easier than the doubles, which sometimes flop with the weight of the flowers.
