Pictured with House Sparrow for size comparison. I say that like I planned it! haha!

I have a few more shots if needed, but I'll stop with this one.

Maybe a Female Indigo Bunting, or an immature male growing into his colors? Just a wild guess on my part.

edited to add: My other thought was possibly a Blue Grosbeak.

Thanks for the input Plantladylin. I think a Grosbeak would be too big. This bird was smaller than a House Sparrow. I think it must be an Indigo Bunting. I'm leaning toward immature male. Doesn't it seem too colorful to be a female?

Here's another pic for fun. Also pictured with a house sparrow.

I agree, probably an immature Indigo Bunting. My bird book lists the size of the House Sparrow and Grosbeak as 6" while the Indigo Bunting is 5.5" so that pretty little bird is probably an immature male. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will pop in before long with confirmation.

Ditto to Indigo Bunting; winter plumage male - tough to tell whether adult or immature.
