Has anybody already seen such mutation ? This is supposed to be a pure white delphinium hybrid "Magic Fountain" ! Some petals are really black. What to do next ? To wait until next spring to see if this happens again ?
mutation on a delphinium
There is a grey delphinium/larkspur called Earl Grey.
Cymodocee,
I would save seeds from it and carefully start them indoors next year for maximum germination and plant yield. I wouldn't depend on self-seeding. I suspect delphinium seeds need to be cold-treated for germination. I hesitate to start my best hybrid zinnia seeds in the garden, because of various natural hazards, such as cutworms.
