The story I read many years ago. A young girl (bet early 1900's era or late 1800's) goes into the mountains --maybe Kentucky or Tenn. She is a nurse (or a teacher) (Can you see why I can't find this book???) I think she does fall in love with the young doctor ... She meets the people who at first mistrusted her and falls in love with them..... I think some Characters were Opal.... Starlight (or Lamplight) (I think Starlight) ..... disease hit, babies died, joyous moments happened. I think her name was Christy.... HEY maybe that is the name of the book. I gotta go look......
