Hello,
I moved to my house a few months ago and inherited this tree. I believe it's a Loquat, and it may be a non-fruit producing one. In any case, it survived a bee swarm a couple of months ago (although the weight of the bees broke off one whole branch), it had a bird nest inside for several weeks, and it was generally healthy and very green. Over the past two weeks the leaves started falling at an alarming rate, and the base of the trunk became very dark. It really looks like it's dying. I took the photo a couple of days ago, and by now half of those leaves are gone.
I apologize for the sideways photo...i thought i had saved it rotated...
Any ideas, diagnosis and/or remedies?
Thanks!
