There were a myriad of yellow jackets feasting on this HUGE insect - any ideas as to the insect ID? It is oversized for most PNW critters!

Is it one of those (I don't know the name of it) hummingbird moths? They fly like hummers, go from flower to flower, but the ones I have seen were on low to the ground flowers. A very ugly insect.
