In raised bed (container?) use 5-1-1 mix?

Lebanon, OH(Zone 6a)

I love this stuff for my pots. Now I would like to use it in my new raised bed 4/12/8.
Should I adjust the quantities any?

Thanks

Hi Kath - Maybe skip the perlite & use it mixed with topsoil so the RB soil is at least a 50% mineral soil (or other mineral component, like very fine pumice, Turface, fine play sand (no salt, please). Remember water behaves differently in containers than it does in raised beds, so the fine soil components that often raise havoc in containers are often great in raised beds. If you have the option of using (quality) compost, I would be thinking somewhere along the lines of 25% compost, 15% pine bark fines, and a 60% mineral fraction. Depending on how deep the beds are, and what the soil is made from, you'll want to give adding dolomite some consideration.

Thanks Al,
I hoped you would come through for me here! What a fantastic answer. I will follow your advice. Now, I just have to get the frame constructed tomorrow.
