Cross Vine (Bignonia capreolata) seeds

Kure Beach, NC(Zone 9a)

I cross posted this in the Vines and Climbers forum.
I have a cross vine with a couple of seed pods. These pods have been on the vine for months and aren't what I would consider "ripe". The pods are still green.
It's killing me! I want to collect the seeds and start some! NOW! ;)
When are these ready? I'm assuming they'll turn brown and start to crack open.
Thanks!

I am not positive on this but I think that the cross vines "shoot" their seeds meaning when they are ripe the pod springs open and the seeds shoot out. I would bag those pods while you can - just to be sure you get the seeds.

They finally popped! I had covered them with pieces of pantyhose (suggested on the vines forum) and am glad I did! Now I have plenty of seeds to trade.
