I had to dig up and split a couple of iris clumps this week. I need to store them until plant share on Sept 11 (3 weeks)- what is the best way? Currently they are in the shade with a bit of potting soil on top of the roots.
Short term Iris storage
If you clean them up completely, wash off the dirt, dip in a bleach dip and let dry in a cool, dry place, they will easily keep for 3 weeks!

Thanks= they are clean but I have not done the bleach dip!
Cool and dry huh? Guess they will have to go in the basement!
Frankly, I would heel them in the ground. You would have to wash them again, but they should keep nicely.
