Found this Dahlia flowering at Butchart Gardens but neglected to ask them what cultivar - can anyone help with identification please?
What cultivar is this please?
Looks like a "Prairie Sun" Rudbeckia (Black Eyed Susan) instead of a Dahlia. Even the foliage looks like Rudbeckia foliage.
I agree with Jon. More like Rudbeckia than a dahlia. It can be a Heliopsis cultivar too.
Just wondering, a fabulous garden such as Butchart Gardens, they don't have labels for their plants?
Thanks for the guidance - Rudbeckia hirta - Prairie Sun it is.
In regards to Butchart Gardens - they do label their roses but all others aren't quite deliberately to leave the garden and the flowers looking as pure as possible without lots of labels sticking up all over the place! They provide a plant identification centre where you can go and ask what flower is that - but for this "dahlia" I neglected to do that.
