desert rose adenium obesum bonsai

I just got an adenium . I want to turn it into a bonsai, but it's already 3 years old. Do you think I could still do this? and when they say prune, how much do I prune ? I can take a pic if anyone would like.

I have read and so do not know for certain that most of the growth put on by these plants is in the first 3 years. How much "training" will it require? As for cutting stems, that works just fine as long as you do it in the spring when it's coming out of dormancy. People do all sorts of interesting things to DR's without killing them.

thanks I planted it and going to wait a bit before pruning it so it can get adjusted to it's new home. ;o)
