Can anyone help me identify why some, but not all, of my bugbane are doing so poorly. On the one hand, I think that the sick ones could possibly be just getting either too much sun or too much water. Alternatively, is this some kind of disease?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Sick Bugbane (Actaea/Cimicifuga 'Brunette')
Hi Seran, I just came across your post. Is the "Bug Bane" cimicifuga r. doing better now ?
If still in distress I will throw out some guesses.
. Too much sun
. to little water. I f feel they need attention to watering when moved.
. the 3 Varieties I have (maybe 4!?) all do better mulched. The wild ones in the woods around here have leaf litter around them. I live in south central upstate New York.
.This is a pure guess, Maybe the Montana soil is to alkali to suit them?
Best regards, Lee Sherwood McDonald
