My neighbor just called me all freaked out about about all these little bugs that are eating her leaves of her potato plants. I have never bothered with them or been bother so I didn't know how to advise her. How do you get rid of them and will they hurt the potatoes?
Thanks
Jan
Pill bugs, sow bugs what ever you call them
Need to see an image of them to make an i.d.
Well, they are called sow bugs, pill bug, potato bug. When you touch them they roll up into a little ball like a BB. I think I have it figured out though, that she just needs to thin out her potatoes and remove decomposing material around the plants. Also if you lay dark plastic they don't like the heat but that might be detrimental to her potatoes.
