Angiopteris evecta

Gainesville, FL

What are the chances it would be hardy in North Central FL, zone 8B?
How fast growing is it? How hard would it be to "in and out" it into a greenhouse?

It is a tropical plant that is naturalized In Hawai'i, but only to mid-elevation forests. It does not grow high up on the mountain where it gets cold.

It gets huge in my garden. Fronds get to 15 ft. long. But, if it is grown in a large pot it will stay smaller.

Okay, lets play devil's advocate...how small a pot, and how small? I have a chance to trade for one but you know I am getting to be an old hag and can;t pull the huge plants in and out of the greenhouse for too many more years, LOL

I imagine a 10 gallon pot would contain it for several years.

I have had one in a 5 gallon pot for about 8 years, which is now breaking through the pot and growing into the ground. The fronds are about 6 ft. long.
