Propagating manettia

Baker, LA(Zone 8b)

Has anyone had any success in propagating manettia cordifolia? I've tried to root cuttings in pots and in water and have not succeeded either way. Anyone have any experience with this vine?

I have 4 of these vines in my yard - haven't tried propagating it, but would think you could successfully soil layer it.

I haven't tried that...I guess that's next on my list to try.

I've propagated it by both cuttings, and later on by division of the many small tubers/rhizomes it makes. Should not be tht difficult from cuttings, try rooting powder, put in perlite in baggies under flourescent lights.

I've mostly tried cuttings. Did you do it in the early spring. When you say florescent lights. I assume you have them indoors. I've tried both indoors and outdoors with no success. I'll try it in perlite next as you suggested to see if I can get it to take. It's so humid here, I think the cuttings are dying from a fungus.
