I read this in an older book "The Iris Book" by Molly Price.
"...Certainly the percentage of bacterial rot has been reduced since I began to use Pfizer's agrimycin 100 several years ago. I mix the solution according to the highest concentration recommended in the directions on the bottle (4 tablespoons per 5 gallons of water) in a watering can, add a trace of detergent and drench the plants and surrounding soil. I have no regular program, but start in early spring and repeat during hot and humid periods in the summer."
Agrimycin 100 to control bacterial rot?
Agrimycin is an antibiotic for cattle according to a Yahoo search. Things change over the years so you may want to check with USDA to see if it is approved for plant applications and/or if it is a controlled medication.
