I have one new hive of bees and we are looking to install central air. The problem is the contractor wants to put the compressor near the hive.
Will the noise disturb the bees and make them surly? I plan on getting a second hive next spring. As I have a small yard and don't have a lot of options on where to place the bees or the compressor, I'm hoping someone has prior experience with this issue.

We use a window mounted air conditioner. In fact our bees were attracted to it during a particularly hot summer. The distilled water that drips when the unit was running was discovered by the bees and used as a water source.
I think as long as the hot air is not blowing on them they will be just fine.
