The third annual Tropical Garden Fair will be held at Cannon Park Racecourse on July 11th 2010. There will be displays by local growers and businesses and numerous varieties of locally grown plants will be on sale including many rare and collector species. The plant doctor Roger Goebel will be on hand to give sound advice on any gardening problems. The Cairns Kennel Club will present dog obedience and agility displays during the morning and The Golden Gumboot Toss will be hotly fought out on the track at 2 pm between the local garden clubs and judged by Graham Byrne from the ABC gardening program.
There will be food and drinks available on site and live music. Children will have lots to do on the day with a site for them to pot up their own plant to take home as well as a Jumping Castle and Giant Slide.

Hi Ann, really wish I could be there. Say Hi to Robyn and Jenny for me.

Magnetic Island, Australia(Zone 11)

I can't believe it....I have a very important birthday on the evening of the 10th July....not fair....I just can not get out of the party, even if I wanted too......My brain has done quick calculations and our first barge off the island is at 8:05am Sunday morning....drive up to Cairns 4 hours...not worth the demon pace to get me there.......Carnival on Collins sounds promising though....thanks for the info Ann.

I'll try and take a few photos. It's always frustrating being torn between working and buying :)
