Deer? Rabbits? Groundhog?
What critters eat coleus?
None here but I do get holes (not many and not large) in some of them so some insect must be munching on them.
On another forum there is a thread about deer and how destructive they can be to one's garden. I really haven't had problems with deer although they are around. In reading thru that thread, however, an image of a deer peacefully munching on my favorite coleus flashed in front of my eyes! I hide my hosta to not tempt deer to forage here, but coleus...Yikes.
Hope many others will chime in to confirm your "no, not here" so I can calm down.LOL Thanks for your response Pirl.
Deer will eat anything if they're hungry enough but they shy away from anything fuzzy, or anything with a smell - like basil, thyme and mint. Coleus is in the mint family so I doubt you have anything to worry about. They've never touched mine though they have routinely eaten my hosta leaves but so far this year they are grazing elsewhere and they have only visited here a few times in mid May.
