Mycorrhizal fungi is it really beneficial?

Mycorrhizal fungi is it really beneficial? Or would I be better off using molasses.

Charlotte, NC(Zone 7b)

Mycorrhizae is very beneficial, I now don't garden without it! There are different types - Wikepedia explains them:

Vegetables in the broccoli family don't need mycorrhizae.

That's great Dean. The first year I tried mycorrhizae on tomatoes, I left some plants without it, and the difference between the two groups was very noticeable.

Last year I added seabird guano to my regime and picked 400lbs of maters!

I'm doing the same with some flowers. I left some without and the ones with are growing bigger faster. Keep in mind these were just seedling hibiscus.
