Interplanting Epiphyllums

Columbus, OH

I don't mind the kind of weird look of epiphyllums, but my husband is less enamored. I'd like to plant something to weave in and out of the fronds of the epis, that can take the same care as the epis, which means a cool, dryish period in the winter. Any thoughts? I am thinking perhaps a trailing coleus, trailing plectranthus, or maybe a nematanthus. I'd love for it to be a variegated nematanthus, but like most variegates, they take less sun than the regular.

Any spectacular ideas?? TIA for your creative advice.

Hoya?
We have ours by our epiphyllums and tillandsia and all are doing well.
We're actually getting Hoya blooms in mass!

Hmmm...that's actually a really great idea!

I have Hoya blooms, but my plants are babies and this is their first year.
