CLOUDINESS...SHOWERS...AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A BROAD
AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 975 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE
SOUTHERNMOST CAPE VERDE ISLANDS HAVE BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED TODAY.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR CONDUCIVE FOR ADDITIONAL SLOW
DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT MOVES
WEST-NORTHWESTWARD OR NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.
THERE IS A MEDIUM CHANCE...50 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL
CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

Could this become Alex?
darius, I am amazed at the lack of understanding of hurricane paths in the Caribbean. If you take a look at a map of the coastal area, it can be visualized. For far longer than man has been present the storms have come and battered the shorelines.
And now, what will one do, to farther spread the disaster that man has unleashed upon the coastal area (think oil spill).
See you in a couple of weeks at round-up.
I see that center has been downgraded by a strong front. I, too, hate to think what will happen if 'cane and oil meet.
Looking forward to seeing you again!
