leaf spot on mandevilla

Waterloo, ON(Zone 5a)

I have a beautiful mandevilla in a container. Half of the leaves are healthy and the others are covered in bumpy, rust colored spots. I've seen what I think is clover mite close to the containers- do you think that has anything to do with it? Please help identify.
Thx, Buttercup

Do any of the dark spots come off if you rub them with your fingernail or toothpick?
I can't say about clover mites but they can get white fly, scale insects & likely other spider mites. If your plant is still small, wet a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, squeeze it to remove any excess and rub the backsides of the leaves. You can use a q-tip also.
Make sure no alcohol gets into the roots.
