Thanks pelle. I've lived here 9 years and have seen them high in the trees and it was a great surprise to see him/her in my yard.
Yep, looks well outside of normal habitat. I'd guess there's been a cone crop failure on the Whitebark Pines, forcing them to look for food elsewhere.

It could be do to the pine beetle damage in this area. Most of the great Ponderosa and Lodge-pole pines have been killed.
