How do those sound deterrent devices affect other critters?
Do they work on mice?
Would they work on pigeons?
Does the sound harm any critters?

We tried one of those plug-in devices, hoping to banish the mice we heard running around above the ceiling tiles in our basement, but the "inaudible" sound bothered our cats, so we went back to using old-fashioned mouse traps baited with cheese.
Thank you---I thought that they might bother the other critters.
I don't have a cat, but the neighbourhood cats like my yard.

Mice don't actually like cheese - you'd have much better success with raisins or peanut butter

Hi Resin! You must have different mice from us. Canadian mice go crazy for aged cheddar. We've caught dozens of them with it. Peanut butter is good for attracting raccoons, skunks, squirrels, opossums, and coyotes, though. Nothing eats raisins - I've tried giving them to the wildlife and there were no takers.
