non flowering dogwood

My pink/red cornus florida did not bloom at all this year. The rest of the shrubs, and perennials thrived. Any thoughts why this happened???

You could have had a frost when the flower buds were forming. Sometimes flowering trees just take a year off too. My cornus Kousa does that. Blame it on the weather unless you start seeing signs of sickness.
