I find myself vexed by some of my plants this Spring. Firstly, a Korean Dogwood I planted several years ago (that has bloomed faithfully in May) simply refused to bloom this year. Now, my Asters that are also several years old (that have faithfully bloomed in August/September) seem to be preparing to bloom- in early June. Is anyone else in central NC noticing any odd plant behavior this year?
Puzzlement
My asters, which I planted late last summer, have been blooming for the past 3 weeks. They're not very robust, but I'm hoping they grow larger throughout summer. ( I've never grown asters before.)
My hollyhocks started blooming the beginning of June.
None of my dogwoods bloomed this year. (Naturalized in the woods.) I posted on this a few months ago asking if anyone had this experience. But folks in Raleigh had no issues and some folks at work (Cary and Raleigh residents) had no issues. I live in Hillsborough so a little closer to you as compared to the folks in Raleigh and Cary.
There was no spring. We simply jumped from a very cold winter to summer. Ug.
