I. furcata?

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

I was sold this as Iris furcata at the Denver Botanic Garden (which I was then told was the same thing as I. aphylla by dg friends) but now that it is blooming it doesn't match anything I can find online. There are no pictures in the PF of it, and the pics I see online range from purple to yellowish white. Any idea if what I have is I. aphylla/ furcata?

SIGNA checklist says "distinguished by stems branching above the middle with smaller deeper flowers of better shape than aphylla. "

Here's a picture of it growing at the Denver Botanical Garden

Does it look similar to you?

Does that SIGNA checklist mean furcata is individual from aphylla?
I saw that picture online, and I can't make heads or tails of it. I think that looks more yellow than mine. But I did buy mine from their spring sale, so I wonder...I definitely trust their labeling - although it's such a big sale that there could be goof-ups. I suppose I could drive up there and see their specimen...:) good excuse for a road trip??

That would be my interpretation of the SIGNA checklist, yes, a different variety, but similar. .

I think the picture looks quite similar. Maybe email them the picture and see if they can say for sure.

But, hey, any excuse for a road trip, right?
