This in not insect damage to my old boxwood hedge but accidental power wash spray caused the damage. Will it eventually grow back? Should I cut it out? Paint it green?
I love the old hedge and want it to look nice. any advice is welcome.
thanks,
Susan
Now what do I do?
If you cut it out, it will eventually grow and fill back in, but slowly, of course. I don't know if the branches, left alone, will sprout new leaves or not. Perhaps someone else will know (I suppose it depends on the extent of damage done to the branch itself)
Make a small scrape on the branch (or branches) with a small knife - or your fingernail. If it remains green under the bark, the branch is alive and will regrow leaves. If it is brown, the branch is dead.
