First Bloom 'Tangerine Dream'

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

The flower color is actually a bit more orange in person. This flower will get cut off today but I could not resist getting a little look at what the bloom looks like at least when it first blooms. Tangerine is a good name for this new echinacea, it describes the bright orange tone very well. I am looking forward to these new plants growing and blooming even more now if that is possible.

It's a beauty. Maybe you can put it in a small vase and enjoy it indoors. Isn't it amazing that these new plants try to bloom at such a small size. It's almost impossible to force myself to remove the blooms. I did it last year. Some of the plants I lost in the flood were plants I never saw bloom.

Ooooh, it's very nice. I just had to pull the bloom off of my tangerine dream b/c it was the only thing that the rabbit apparently didn't like. Thank you for the pic, it gives me hope for a new day :)

It's nice. I agree with Clint. Cut it off and put it in a vase. Coneflowers last a good week in a vase.
