Wow, thank's to Burd I just found this neat Forum

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

I have a few non-bird pics I thought I'd share. All were taken with my Canon 40D and Canon 100mm Macro lens, on a tripod, usually.

This first one is a Flesh Fly

This is a a Bumble Bee, not a Carpenter Bee. Note the hairy abdomen, Carpenter bees' abdomen are hairless.

This tiny insect is a Bark Louse. I remember just happening to see it, no tripod.

This Whitefly is another tiny insect. Often you can shake a bush and these little critters go everywhere.

The last pic I have is of a Bottle Fly (AKA Blowfly). They are pretty, but not what you'd want walking around on your picnic sandwich - they are among the first to arrive at a carcass and lay their eggs.

This forum I going to motivate me to breakout the Macro lens. I like the bigger animals, but to me, the tiny ones, with all their intricate parts are amazing.

I continued browsing and wow, this Forum is plumb full of the neatest pics and stories.

Great pictures and thanks ^_^ I could not ever see them so clearly without your macro shots! You've even got pics of my 'least favorite yard companion': the gnat.
