...and a cause for despair!
I hate el nino!
We are experiencing a real scary climate change! :(

The summer heat this year is extremely severe in my country. I wonder if this would be experienced every summer, if not worse, considering the growing global warming. If it does, what's the use of planting and gardening during fair weather, just to experience despair during the summer heat? Continue gardening or not? Decisions! Decisions!

I'm sad for your lovely Medinilla. Maybe it needed more shade.

So sad.

I lost mine, too - too cold even in my heated garage - VERY sad!

Perhaps to console me for the many flowering plants that dried-up due to the severe el nino heat, several fruit trees yielded a bountiful harvest....
but I still want my flowering plants back!!! :(

Looks like your Medinilla bush was planted under full sun. Most of the species of this plant originally comes from tropical rain forests, under a canopy provided by large trees. Years ago I had a majestic Medinilla magnifica in Makati, in Metro Manila...it lasted a mere 2 summers. Now I have stopped buying them so plant collectors would stop taking them from the forests.
