baby bird help please

Mableton, GA(Zone 7a)

My neighbor's cat brought her a baby bird that seems to be all right (He always brings her live, intact "friends" to keep with him in the house). She wants to save it and would like to know if she could put it in any nest she finds that is active. It has down already, but it's eyes aren't open.

1. Is there a possibility the birds in the strange nest will accept it?
2. Is there a chance it will cause them to abandon their own offspring and the nest all together? If so she wouldn't put the baby in it.

Thanks for any help. Otherwise, I'm afraid she will just have to let it die because she does not know what else to do with it.

This link has some info that is relevant to your neighbor's situation. Hope it helps.

Thanks so much but the baby bird. :-(

Well sorry to hear that. Cat's are not a bird's best friend and death is usually the result whether they mean it or not.
