This is growing and SPREADING among my cedar trees. Some of the trees are at least 30 feet tall. Will it kill my trees? Should I cut them down before it spreads to other other plants/trees? I think it is some type of fungus. Yesterday in the rain the tentacle like parts were plumper.
Cedar tree disease
It's Cedar Apple Rust Galls...my cedar tree has it also. Nothing you can do at this point but pick them off and pre-treat for them next year. Spores fly off the tentacles with the wind and infect Apple trees so hopefully you don't have any of those.
...and hawthorns too.
